Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Excellent tyres. I tried the General Grabber having previously had Michelin Cross Climate and Geolander. The Grabber is a much better all round tyre for highway and countryside driving. The chunky tyre in no way seems any louder and overall driving is excellent. We have only had a few snow days this year and the tyres were good (on an AWD vehicle) although it wasn&#39;t much of a test to trial them out.

Replacement for a previous set of Grabber2&#39;s which I&#39;d been very happy with. Hadn&#39;t expected the Grabber3&#39;s to be such a big improvement. Excellent tyres, have improved the drive of my Range Rover considerably.

Having fitted these to the front, I could only hear the rear tyres when driving, and there was no change in the mpg. I live in North Devon, so more roads have potholes, but I also drive on country roads too Love the tyres, and have off roaded with them too, and they did a great job I recently drove to Cardiff too, and the tyres did not feel any different to other road tyres As long as the price does not go stupid, I will buy these again - shame they do not do them in 175/70R14C so I could put on my van

Bit of sceptic before purchase. Naw I know it was right decision as tyre clear quickly from mad when returning to tarmac and well driving for last 4000 km.

I put in a great deal of research when selecting an all seasons tyre for the X5. The WR SUV 3 from Nokian seemed to have the best all round performance. The first set I bought in 2015. I replaced the front two tyres after 22,000 miles, only because one was damaged by a pot hole. The Nokians have worked well in both the extreme heat of a Turkish Summer (46c) and the extreme cold of Polish and Norwegian winters (-30c). The dry weather performance was equal to Vredstein high performance tyres I used previously. The cold weather performance was impressive even at motorway speeds in snow and slush, snow upto 8 inches deep didn&rsquo;t even phase them on country roads. Mud and snow while driving off road also proved little problem. The wet grip was almost as good as the Vredsteins, but you have to really push hard in the wet to find the limit even at autobahn speeds.. If you need a good all round all season tyre for your SUV then these are worth looking at..

Slight decrease in MPG, no noise difference. Fortunately (or unfortunately) only encountered snow once this winter so unable to properly test them out.

I was a little sceptical about the benefits of winter tyres but after trying these I am now a convert. Supreme grip in the wet, snow and ice. As the tyres have a soft compound, tyre wear would be a problem during the summer so separate summer and winter tyres are advised.

At the time tyres were purchased on a cost basis how ever I have been greatly impressed with the alround performance of these tyres there is very little road noise in the cabin from them,the grip is equal if not better than some named brands, and the wear rate is very good considering the weight they are carrying (I believe a freelander 2 is over 2.5 tonnes) yes I would buy these again with out hesitation

These are great tires for the price. In Vancouver we rarely get snow but when we do, the city shuts down. We get wet compact smow that quickly turns to ice. These tires work well in this type of condition. They're 1/2 the price of a blizzack and just as good.
