Identify the size of your tyre
The exact dimensions of a tyre can be found on the sidewall printed mark. The graphic shows how to read properties and dimensions of the tyre:

SPEED INDEX:
The speed index indicates the maximum speed intended for the tyre. Up to this value, the manufacturer guarantees optimum operation with the appropriate tyre pressure. The maximum speed allowed for this vehicle is given in the vehicle owner's manual; this information can be used to select the appropriate speed index for the tyre. The speed index is the last mark on the sidewall of the tyre.
 
Load Index
Permissible maximum axle load per tyre in kg. To be found in the registration certificate or vehicle registration document or read directly from the tyre (two-digit number). It is permitted to fit a tyre with a higher load index.
 
Driving safety despite puncture
Runflat tyres are puncture-resistant tyres with reinforced sidewalls. This creates the so-called run-flat property. In the event of damage, this allows the vehicle to continue driving up to a distance of approx. 100 km (and even beyond depending on the product) at a maximum speed of 80 km/h, even if the pressure has been completely lost. Run-flat tyres even prevent the tyre rubber from jumping off the rim in the event of a loss of air pressure. A flat tyre is therefore still a flat tyre, but it loses some of its drama. Note: All run-flat tyres are marked with the symbol "RSC" (Runflat System Component) and may only be fitted in vehicles with a functioning air pressure control system!
 
Tyres with increased load capacity
Reinforced tyres are designed for higher loads than normal tyres. They can be identified by the designation 'RF' (reinforced) or also 'XL' or 'Extra Load'. They are used on vans, minibuses, off-road vehicles, etc. However, their mounting alone does not automatically result in higher load capacity but also requires a correspondingly higher air pressure. Furthermore, the load capacity index specified in the vehicle documents continues to apply.
 
Tyres with extra high load capacity
The "C" in the term C tyres stands for "commercial". These tyres are specially designed for commercial vehicles. These can be, for example, lighter trucks, delivery vans, flatbed trucks or panel vans. In other words: vehicles that have to move higher loads at a comparatively lower speed. The multi-ply reinforced C tyres are therefore even more load-bearing than reinforced tyres.
 
Mobility-optimised tyres
A tyre with a sealing layer on the opposite side of the tyre tread. In the event of a puncture (e.g. by a nail), this layer blocks any loss of air, even if the foreign body causing the puncture is still in the tyre. It is not necessary to stop or change the tyres immediately at the roadside.

Smooth and absolutely lovely on snow, sensational grip. Great feel of safety on wet roads. Used to drive with Pirelli Sottozero 3 winter-tyres which are great too however these GoodYear UltraGrip Performance + winter-tyres are a new level of tyres.

I drive an automatic which is terrible for grip with only the slightest snowfall, and I&rsquo;m very cautious in sub zero icy weather. However with the UltraGrip Performance + tyres I was full of confidence every time I drove in sub zero weather conditions. Breaking distances were further than summer tyres, as expected, but nothing to worry about. Car performance was very good and fuel consumption while motorway cruising was better than summer tyres! There was no snowfall this year so I cannot comment.

These tyres are a long lasting winter tyre which I keep on the car all year, so far I haven&#39;t driven on snow with them but have been on the car all summer, normally a time when winter tyres wear more.

We have had winter tyres fitted to our main family car for the last 8 years and are total converts to their benefits. This was the first year I have worked as a chauffeur and didn&#39;t hesitate to have them fitted. All Mercedes vehicles wear tyres out in certain areas before the whole tyre is ready for replacement, due to their steering geometry settings. The winter tyres have outlasted the &#39;summer&#39; tyres in this aspect and are still fitted to the vehicle despite temperatures now remaining above the optimum seven degrees. I totally recommend these tyres and will have them fitted next winter.

Not too sure about the breaking properties of tyres - I tend to have more interest in their braking properties. That aside, these tyres give extra confidence on snow and cold wet roads, but once the temperature starts to increase in Spring, there is the usual drop off of performance - as expected. Just switched back to Summer tyres after the second season with these Goodyears, and still 7 to 8mm tread depth left - more than you get with some NEW tyres.

After using Michelin tires for the past 20 years model PS4, ENGERY SAVER, the cross climates on this vito crew sport, the tire life has being shocking, 8,000 miles and there so expensive 1k a set, so decided to give the Goodyear&#39;s ago, I&#39;m was shocked at how well these are performing, the ride is so much better, the Michelins have straight side walls, which ride very hard, you feel every bump..... Goodyear&#39;s ride comfort, life and grip has been amazing I&#39;ve done 17,000 miles and there is still life on the rear tires, id say there will do 22,000, and an set of these is 600 quid.... see you later Michelin, all my vans and cars are going Goodyears.....

This is the second time I have bought a full set of these tyres. I mostly drive on motorways, country roads and off road. My fuel efficiency went up when I put on my first set. The ride is more comfortable and the grip is excellent in dry and wet weather. They have performed well on snow. Despite being all weather the rate of wear is very good. I would definitely buy them again.

My tyre size was 205 55 16 but not in the list! Unbelieveble in wet surface but average on dry breaking. Good aquaplanning and snow traction. Good comfort but average noise.

Tires keep the vehicle nicely on the road, no traction problems. On ice British roads they perform great no problems stopping or going.

When I bought the car in September last year it had recently been fitted with Kumho Ecsta PS71. These were quite skippy on the wet roads despite being marketed as a good performer in wet conditions. Since fitting the CrossClimate 2&#39;s I have had far better grip in the wet and winter conditions. We have had loads of rain, flooded roads then ice and then a week of snow. These tyres give confidence in these conditions and help improve the safety of your drive in those conditions. Will buy again.

When I bought my BMW 3 series I had off brand summer tyres on it. I bought Michelin Crossclimate 2 tyres for it and noticed the difference in the handling on dry roads immediately. The car was much firmer and secure on the road when driving at speed. When driving in the torrential wet I found these tyres to struggle a bit but general rain fall they are fine. Took a year and a half before I got serious snow to test them in. I had to drive home 30 miles on rural roads at 5am with no snow tracks to help and to make things harder I was in a rear wheel BMW. These tyres handle it perfectly, they are incredible in snow. Finally, I am a year and a half/ 10000 miles into them and they easy have another 7K/8K worth of miles in them. 5 stars all round, I&#39;m buying them again no question.

The tyres lasted about 3 weeks before one had a blow out the side wall of the tyre went on a motorway nearly caused an accident we were towed to a fast fit centre so they fitted 2 new tyres to replace the ones from mytyres I tried contacting the supplier had no answer from my email and the phone put on to a very unhelpful gentleman who took no notice of any thing I said. So I would say DON&rsquo;T buy tyres on line go to a fast fit that way if something goes wrong you can claim.

Really poor wear. Would not buy again. Was getting near 20k miles on cheaper brands. Expected more from Firestone

These tyres perform well, they&#39;re comfortable and they&#39;re quiet, but they&#39;re fragile and wear too quickly. They get punctured and damaged really easily and don&#39;t last as long as I would expect. I&#39;ve had two full sets of these tyres but after yet another puncture I&#39;m sick of constantly having to change them so I&#39;ve had them all replaced with another brand. I won&#39;t buy these again and I don&#39;t recommend them.

The best winter / wet and all round tyre with exceptional grip in wet conditions, quiet &amp; safe I have ever used. Not the cheapest but worth every penny, will definitely use again without any doubt.

I like that quality of wet grip while driving do not diminish during the time of use.

Compared with my previous Michelins, and the Pirelli summer tyres, these disappoint. No confidence in the snow and they felt unnatached in the wet.

I would like to say that these tyres saved our bacon this winter. We had lots of snow and ice over January and February this year and the tyres never lost an ounce of grip. Even when others were stuck and lost in snow drifts, the Scout got through. I was concerned about the wear of the tyres (bring softer than summet tyres but there was little wear showing on the Winter Tyres). Highly recommended for high speed road driving or off-road snowdrifts!
